Nickel Digital is managed by traders and investment professionals who bring together decades of investment experience gained at major Wall Street banks, including Bankers Trust, Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan, Morgan Stanley, BofA Merrill Lynch, UBS, and Rothschild, as well as in global hedge funds. This experience is complemented by the academic backgrounds of our managers in mathematics, econometrics, and computer engineering, obtained from Wharton, the London School of Economics, and the University of Oxford.
Team
A banker with 27 years of experience in investment management and private equity. Before joining Nickel, Anatoly worked in the investment management department at Goldman Sachs, where he focused on portfolio formation for professional family office clients. Prior to that, he worked at JPMorgan, HSBC, and the EBRD. Anatoly studied international business relations at the University of National and World Economy in Sofia and earned an Executive MBA degree from the University of Oxford in 2009.
A portfolio manager with over 30 years of experience in trading macro, commodity, and fixed relative value portfolios in hedge funds and investment banks. Before joining Nickel, Michael managed crypto-arbitrage strategies for a well-known family office in London, the FIRV portfolio for a multi-billion-dollar hedge fund in Madrid, and worked in the arbitrage operations department at Bankers Trust, later at Deutsche Bank. Michael graduated with honors in Electronic Engineering from the University of Manchester and earned an MBA in Finance from the Wharton School of Business in 1992.
A portfolio manager with 14 years of experience in macroeconomic research and hedge fund trading. Before joining Nickel, he worked at Macrosynergy Partners, Toscafund, and Liongate. He independently created a successful algorithmic cryptocurrency arbitrage system, which became one of Nickel Digital’s core trading systems.
David is part of the investment committee and participates in weekly portfolio reviews, manager approvals, and capital allocation processes. Prior to his current role as a consultant at Diversified Alpha, David was a portfolio manager at the fund, helping launch it in 2021 and attracting the initial group of managers. David holds a first-class honors master’s degree in history and an additional degree in law from the University of Edinburgh.
